Motherboard II

After all the dramas of fitting the motherboard the first time, here I am again with the same job ahead of me. The big difference this time around is that I had a clear plan, and the idea itself was a really good one. See, the brake disc wasn't just for show - Geoff suggested that I could mount the motherboard on the back of it. This would kill two birds with one stone: it would obviously hide the computer parts from view while also looking really cool in general from the other side. He might spend all day in an office editing articles but he still has some good ideas.



I’m that kind of guy that rarely toss anything away if I have that hunch that might possibly need it in the future. I have a huge stockpile of materials and this new idea required me to mount the motherboard on legs. A quick rummage through my stuff produced this aluminium rod, which I cut into four equal lengths (don't ask me why there are only three in the photo, ok).



The primary purpose of these legs is to elevate the motherboard above the back of the calliper. Without them, it would not be possible to hide the motherboard completely and some of it would be visible from the front.



After a few hours of waiting for the epoxy to dry I was able to screw the motherboard in place. Things were really starting to take shape.
